For brunch I had a cheeseburger, fries, side salad, root beer float, and grapefruit juice. I wasn’t full, per se, when finished, but at least not ravenous any longer. 2 hours later and I’m starving again, waiting for my motel room to be ready. Clearly need to calorie load a bit at this town stop!
I happily woke up around 3am to the sound of rain on my tent fly. So soothing, I turned over with a smile on my face. I was still smiling even when I had to pack up a wet fly, knowing I was heading into Snoqualmie Pass for some time off and a chance to get clean again ;). Despite the humidity, though with much cooler temps than yesterday, an easy Nero day of hiking saw me descending towards I-90 and the small ski resort area of Snowqualmie Pass. I-90 runs very close to home in Lakewood OH and I had to chuckle when I saw this sign on the ski slope on the last descent into the pass:
It was a nice morning hike, though both fields and pine forest, enjoying the cool moist air. Now, I just need to possess my soul in patience until the room is ready so I can get clean, then clean my clothes, such as they are. Most likely I’ll take a zero tomorrow to rest up for the second half of Washington!
