While my primary love is long-distance backpacking– there’s nothing like being out in the woods for a month or longer — and my second love is day hiking and enjoying nature on a daily basis, smaller backpacking trips are a delight. I’m not a typical weekend backpacker, and most of these trip reports are not in the mid-west (I live in northeast Ohio), as I like to travel to mountains and friends living there. All of these trips are 1 week or less.
